| I built those for Dee Ridgeway's DemonZ project which unfortunately was parted out so I can't say how they hold up. They took a lot of time to build and aren't cost effective to do that way, hence the idea for vacuum molding. I need to call my fiberglass guy and get him to make the vacuum molds from the OE covers. I played around with vacuum forming a couple of years ago - made up some molds from the OE covers from fiberglass reinforced plaster. Only problem was drawing a strong vacuum and getting the material to fully seat to the mold. With fiberglass molds I'll be able to bond to them with a perfect air-tight seal and build a top cover box that I can apply positive pressure to the top side of the plexiglass as well as vacuum on the inner side. Should be able to get the material to fully seat to the mold walls that way. Plexiglass is kindof a pain to work with though. It is very tempermental with heating as it tends to form water vapor bubbles within it if it isn't pre-dryed, which adds more time to the manufacturing process. It isn't exactly cheap stuff either.
